About Healing America's Heroes
Ted & Cracker
Since 2014, we have helped many veterans, first responders, fire, police and more in their mental health and well-being mainly through our equine and pictorial programs. Ted Skibyak came through the HAH equine program and made a connection with our #1 therapy horse, Cracker, which led to cracker receiving the therapy animal of the year award through the New Mexico Department of Behavioral Health.

Service Animals of the Year
Healing America’s Heroes is blessed to have had, not one, but two nominations by previous participants to the department of behavioral health for the state of New Mexico and won service animal of the year! Huge shoutout to our all stars, cracker(horse) and foxy(dog) for being right where they needed to be for our heroes. Cracker made it over 30 years old as a horse and foxy continues to be right next to every veterans and first responder who attends our programs today. Thank you both for Healing America’s Heroes.
